How to Get More Flexible, Fast

Flexibility takes effort and knowledge.  The effort is the easy part. The knowledge however is the hard part.  I have read so many books on stretching, yoga and flexibility.  I have done every program you can imagine on, how to stretch and some that you really shouldn’t know about.  And the one thing most of them had in common was, they didn’t work worth beans.

That’s right they didn’t work.  I spend a lot of money trying to get more flexible and learn to stretch.  The ones I think that made me the maddest were the yoga videos.  Now, not all yoga is bad but the tapes I watched were a complete joke.  They started out by showing me impossible stretching positions, that only a born contortionist could even begin to stretch into.

Then there were the old stretches that we learned in school.  The basic ‘stretch and hold’ moves.  If you had P.E. you did these before every sport.  They don’t work either.  Stretching and flexibility is something you need to understand if your going to do any kind of program to gain more flexibility.  In other words, you cant just stretch and not know what your doing.  You will need to understand it so you can know what to look for and notice if you’re doing it right.

I wont bore you with the names of all the programs I tried or bought.  I will just tell you about the one that got me started down the right path.  I got an email from my mother, where she got the information I don’t know, she told me to check out this stretching book.  So I did.  I figured since I spend so much already what’s a little bit more.  I am truly glad I did.

I ordered the book then forgot about it.  About a week later I received this package.  After opening it up and looking at it, I remembered I ordered the book on stretching.  Since that was my day off, I took an hour to read the book.  I was truly fascinated by his explanation.  I had come across a little bit of what was being explained before but not where I could understand it this way.

I took the next hour and worked through the stretches.  I got instant results!  I was really amazed.  I thought it most be a fluke.  But it was enough to keep me going.  I decided to stay with it for 7 days.  After the 7 days I had more flexibility and the stretches in the book were much easer.

The good thing about these stretches was the fact that I didn’t have to be flexible to do them.  If you have gotten some programs you will know what I mean by that.  He had beginner stretches, intermediate stretches and advanced stretches.  I started with beginner.  I was truly impressed with the book so I bought the video and 3 other books he has.  I hope they will prove as helpful

I have included a link to their web page if you’re interested.  I would give it a try they have a money back guarantee and I think you will like the products.

What is dynamic stretching?

Dynamic stretching is more complicated than static stretching and involves movements that replicate those inherent to your particular sport or activity. The movements, which may include knee lifts, walking lunges or arm swings are much better than static stretches for sports preparation. Dynamic stretching does not attempt to exceed your static-passive stretching ability – this is ballistic stretching. Dynamic stretching uses the speed of movement, momentum and active muscular effort to bring about a stretch. In contrast to static stretching, the end position of a dynamic stretch should not be held. Often, dynamic stretches are used to assist in developing neuromuscular coordination, speed and power.
